FAQ of 3D Digital Microscope

1. What is the difference between the 2D and 3D viewing modes of the 3D Digital Microscope?

The 2D mode provides a conventional flat image for examining surfaces and planar features. As a 3D Microscope, the system also provides stereoscopic observation that helps operators perceive component shape, relative depth and raised structures from different viewing angles.

2. How does the 360° rotation function of the 3D Digital Microscope reduce sample handling?

The rotating observation head allows the Digital Inspection Microscope to examine edges, sidewalls, solder joints and recessed features from multiple directions without repeatedly moving the sample. This helps preserve the component’s position during inspection.

3. What does the 0.6–5.0X continuous zoom specification of the 3D Digital Microscope mean?

On this Industrial Digital Microscope, 0.6–5.0X refers to the continuous optical zoom range of the lens body. It is not the final on-screen magnification, which also depends on the camera sensor, 0.5X TV adapter, display size and display resolution.

4. What camera interface and adapter does the 3D Digital Microscope use?

The 3D Inspection Microscope uses a standard C-mount connection and includes a 0.5X camera TV adapter. When replacing or upgrading the camera, confirm the mount thread, sensor size, optical coverage and adapter compatibility.

5. Which main components are included with the 3D Digital Microscope?

The inspection station includes a 32 mm round column, C-mount interface, 0.5X camera adapter, coarse adjustment mechanism, 0.6–5.0X zoom lens, LED ring light, mounting collar, 2D/3D observation head, 260 × 300 mm base plate and four-zone illumination controller.

6. Can the 3D Digital Microscope generate 3D height maps or point-cloud data?

The system is specified for stereoscopic 2D/3D observation, automatic calibration and feature-based measurement. No 3D point-cloud output, height-map function, Z-axis measuring range or height accuracy is specified. These capabilities should be confirmed separately when quantitative 3D surface measurement is required.
